I don’t post bugs often, but when I do… I try to keep it interesting. Not sure what kind of a cricket this is, but I liked the hints of blue and green on top of that maroonish-colored body. It was photographed in Tanjung Puting National Park in Borneo, Indonesia. So if any one has a clue (like my frog last week that was identified by Walt Novak) please let me know. Thanks. I tried Google, but struck out on the identification front. You could reach out to Steven Heydon, PhD, an entomologist at UC Davis’ Bohart Museum. He may be willing to give you a complimentary I.D. or refer you to someone who could help, however, additional information, such as bug size, time of year, time of day or night when the photo was taken, plus location would probably help.
I happen to be a 1st year member of the Museum, but am not sure how much currency my name may carry, in case you want to use it as a referral.
: )
Professor Heydon has graciously helped me with a couple of inquiries and most recently identified a nematode that temporarily migrated from its earthly condominium to the top of a bush in our yard.

Love the color of your cricket, Sean!

I don’t like bugs either, but I like the colors on this one.
