I met this vervet monkey on my first day in Uganda. The little guy was hanging out with the rest of the troop in a city park in the town of Entebbe. Entebbe isn’t too far from Kampala and is home to the international airport that I flew into. It was cool to see several different species of monkey living in the park — sort of their version of a squirrel I suppose. What a cool shot! It must be something to virtually step off a plane in a foreign land to find amazing wildlife just waiting for its portrait to be taken by you, Sean! Thanks again for bringing another stellar image of a critter from a remote corner of the world to our eyes. I just love his crystal clear eyes. He strikes a definite juvenile pose with that weed sticking from his mouth!
Thanks Sue. I was watching a few foreign tourists today in Madison Square Park just outside of my office in New York. They were quite taken with all the squirrels and it made me think of my day in this park and how these monkeys are hardly noticed by the locals but how exotic they were to me.
