A couple of young wild burros playing at Box Springs Mountain Park in Moreno Valley, California. This small population of wild burros are federally protected. They were first brought to the area by gold miners in the late 1800s and early 1900s but were left behind when the miners failed to discover gold. Nikon D300 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 330mm), ISO 400, f/7.1 at 1/320th of a second.
Abandoned but not forgotten. Darling young burros & the gold wildflowers are a kind of reminder of the metal that brought them to Box Springs Mountain Park in California. Great shot, Sean!

Beautiful photo to start the day!
Who needs gold when you have young donkeys frolicking in wildflower-filled fields?
Hard working animals you can see why they were chosen to help miners
Nice to know they are protected now
Thanks for sending out a smile today! These two are delightful, framed by sunny flowers.
Such a charming moment you captured beautifully!
