I’ve posted quite a few shots of the keel-billed toucan and the chestnut-mandibled toucan, but none yet of this guy — the white-throated toucan. I met this fine looking bird down in the Bolivian rainforest back in 2008. They are found throughout the Amazon Basin of South America. Always a pleasure to meet another member of the toucan family. Nw bird for me. Just beautiful.
What a beauty! It’s a wonder they can fly at all given the size of those bills.
With his black feathers he looks like he is in formal attire about to go to the Big Beaked Birds Ball!
He does look all dressed up with that white ‘shirt.’ 🙂 This isn’t a Fruit Loop bird. This is an Academy Award bird!
Stunningly gorgeous creature <3
