White-tailed deer are extremely common where I live in central Connecticut, and in fact, throughout much of the country. That said, it’s still a treat to spot one from the hammock in the backyard. Especially a fawn. This little guy appeared lost and hardly moved for about an hour. But eventually Mom came back and the two disappeared into the forest. Awwwww! So sweet, those big eyes, the alert ears,, the delightful spots on his back. So glad for you finding a friend in the backyard. It does look like he had a bit of a gash once on his forehead. Hope he stops by again.

So happy to hear you got to spend an hour in a hammock observing wildlife. Beautiful fawn. Will he grow into those ears?
Those ears will continue to be disproportionately large. Better for hearing intruders like me sneaking up for a photo.
