First off, thanks everyone for the kind words on yesterday’s post. Much appreciated. As for today, well, I’ve been in quite a lemur mood lately and have been thinking a lot about my trip to Madagascar back in 2007 and how much I’d love to get back there sometime soon. One of the things I liked so much about the country is that it doesn’t really feel like anywhere else in the world. The animals are different than anywhere else, the trees are different, and even the rocks are different. In the south of the country where these Verreaux’s sifaka lemurs live, the tree branches looked like giant pipe cleaners protruding from their thorny trunks. Truly a magical place. The lemur’s tail looks like a pipe cleaner, but its vertical attitude helps it stand out against the tree’s pipe cleaners. Great contrast in colors – an all-around excellent photo, Sean!
Funny, I thought the lemur’s tail looks like a bottle cleaner! Hope you do get some day, Sean, and find the lemur’s nemesis, the Foosa, which has eluded you.
How fortunate we all are that you share your experiences with us for places we may never visit & Animals we would never see
fuzzy tails & branches together in trees
Your daily shots should be part of science programs across the country. If I were a grammar or high school teacher, I would surely make sure my students see your photos. What a great way to learn about wildlife, science and geography!
Seanie I am remiss in my comments and viewing your amazing photography, you know how much I love the Lemurs, almost as much as the frogs!! Congrats big brother to something you are so passionate about!!

Thanks Sue. Yes, I thought the same thing about the tail after I sent the post.

Fossa is at the top of the list. I’m determined.
