I caught this leatherback hatchling, enveloped in a wave, just as it was about to get swept out to sea. So many textures: gritty sand, frothy water, soft sky. And, in the midst of it all, a tiny miracle struggling for life. Awesome.

Night time is best to enter the ocean. Less would-be predators around, so he is set up for success.
