I posted an image of this baby steenbok in the past, but it’s worth a re-post. Even as adults these African antelopes are pretty small, so as calves they are really tiny. For perspective, that’s not the entire width of the dirt road the steenbok is standing in. It’s just one of the two tire tracks that make up the single lane road. Photographed on safari in northern Botswana. Nikon D300 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 400mm) ISO 800, f/4 at 1/640th of a second.
What an interesting image, Sean! That little critter is darling. I like the composition & the low angle of light, be it early morn or late afternoon, provides golden highlights in all the right places.
I don’t believe you “just came across” this baby antelope while in Botswana. I think you faked it: Dressed up one of your friends to look like a juvenile steenbok and then posed the perfect shot, so you could rake in the likes. Honestly, this one looks a lot like Garth.
Adorable! Mom must have been close by? I saw a few of these when we were in Botswana, and they almost look like they levitate when running. Dainty & delightful. Sweet picture.

you can see the tire marks though
Wow, you got the perfect spotlight on him and he’s just so adorable!
Beautiful photo, the lighting is amazing.

Wow. Not only have I never seen a photo of one, I didn’t even know what they were until you posted this. They are tiny! The light is perfect!
