A southern stingray drifts across the top of the seagrass at Shark Ray Alley Marine Reserve in Belize. These guys have quite a range in coastal Atlantic waters, from southern Brazil in the south on up to New Jersey in the north. How do you know it was southern? Was it chewing tobacco? Would it not shut up about grits?

I couldn’t help but notice that the background edge of the seagrass repeats (and helps to emphasize) the arc of the stingray. Nice!
