Here’s another request, this time from my young friend David Koffler. In the spring, female snapping turtles will travel on land for great distances to find suitable sandy soil to lay their eggs. I came across this one as she crossed a freshly sprouting field of crops near Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware.
Nice work. I like the way you’ve established a scene rather than just shooting the turtle. I also like the camera position. You obviously got way down on the ground. If I did that, I’d need help getting up:-). Some flash fill here?

Funny story: One time, i picked up my friend’s pet turtle and it peed on me, so i dropped it by accident. She yelled at me, while i was covered in turtle pee.
This is just friggin’ adorable. This little guy is on a mission. Turtle is my second favorite animal, fyi (after new-found tarsier). Sad story Shardae! Did you kill it?
