This big guy was trying his best to get comfortable for an afternoon nap, but apparently having a difficult time of it. He was one of three silverbacks in this small troop of nine mountain gorillas, which is very unusual but because the three are all related, they won’t push the others out of the group. He actually looks like he has a lot on his mind! Daydreaming about a cutie, maybe? Or–what am I going to have for dinner? Or– does that cloud look like cousin Alfie?! Hope he finally got his nap.

Hey Sean, how anthropomorphic of him in that first shot. He has his legs crossed. That is great!
Primates are always looking like us as they lounge around. This guy, in particular, has some rather Koopmeinersian characteristics.
Amazing. I feel like that too when I can’t fall asleep😊
What a great thrill to see 3 together & not fighting how close did you really get to them for the picture?
Hi Aunt Sue. At times they would walk past us at about five feet. I was probably twenty feet away when I took this shot.

Ha. No doubt one of the above.
Totally awesome – can’t believe just how close you were to that beautiful creature.
