What a beautiful bird, Sean. I love its mix of brown and butterscotch hues. The bird’s velvet-appearing feathers nicely contrast with the rough bark of the tree and I like, of course, the catchlight in its eye!
Isn’t it amazing how well engineered nature is? Brings to mind on how our US gray catbirds’ call is the sound of an angry cat. How ironic. This bird is beautiful and its colors, though subtle are lovely.
