Red-capped cardinals were fairly common in the Pantanal. I got a lot of good close ups of them hanging around the lodge, but these two were photographed while deep up river late one afternoon on one of our jaguar searching missions.
Great shot Sean. These are some cool looking birds. I really love how they are both looking away from each other. It gives the shot a great sense of drama. :-)))

They could be the mascots for the Patriots….their darker feathers look navy blue. How beautiful they are.
