What is a Ranitomeya flavovittata? This guy, of course. One of the more spectacular little poison dart frogs to be found in the Loreto region of the Peruvian Amazon. I had to get deep within the bromeliad plant with my macro lens to get this shot of the fingernail-sized frog. Nikon D850 with Nikkor 105mm macro lens, ISO 500, f/20 at 1/60th of a second, Nikon SB-900 flash.
There’s one in Suriname that’s a brilliant blue color. It’s the most poisonous in the world, and they say it has enough toxins to kill between 20-30 humans.

Colorful for sure!
This area has two varieties of poison dart frog — the yellow and blue, and the red and yellow. Both equally spectacular to me.

Freaking adorbs! Great shot Sean!
Thanks Angelina. I agree. And to think, some people are repulsed by frogs.
Amazing shot and amazing that such a tiny frog can be poisonous!
