Meals don’t come easy for bighorn rams in the wintertime. I photographed this guy a few months back in Yellowstone. There was a small bachelor herd of rams on a steep mountainside, all digging through the snow in search of any edible grass. Nikon D800 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 310mm) ISO 400, f/4 at 1/2000th of a second

Very cool, Craner!
I love your photos because they are so alive! There is always light in your subject’s eyes. I’m rooting for the ram finding grass!!!
He’s a big fellow isn’t he. Well shot, shot, shot, shot etc. Amazing horns, I would not like to be bunted by him! Great Sean 🙂
I wanted to see them so bad in Yellowstone! This is the next best thing 🙂
Hey Jamie, thinking about heading back in a couple of weeks.
