As the weather just keeps getting colder and colder here in New York, seemed appropriate to post these two polar bears who were having a good old time in the cold. They were basically wasting time — play fighting while waiting for the Hudson Bay to freeze over so that they could go out and hunt for seals. Nikon D300 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 360mm) ISO 800, f/5 at 1/500th of a second
You were fairly close go those guys. They’re in great condition.
Better not wear any ‘Seal’ type jackets at that remove.
It’s a pleasure to read your daIly posts, thank you.
I love this. I have been catching up on the blog today and am still loving all the Falkland Island photos along with the photos from Tasmania. Thanks for sharing the love!

Sweet photo, Sean, and i like the pale blue and light-colored stones in the background of this largely white image.
Clearly they are having fun. This image brought a smile to my face.
Very nice. Why do the white polar bears somehow “apperar” friendly!?
—– Artic cold seems to sap
—– All color and value from our earth
—– Eyes yearn for contrast.
Gorgeous. They are mammoth in size yet seemingly juvenile in play. Joyful!
One small slap and you’re done.
They play just like my 2 grandsons visiting now funny how behaviori is so similar
Great shot
