A polar bear walks along the shoreline of the Hudson Bay, waiting for the water to freeze so that he can go out and hunt seals. Nikon D300 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 400mm) ISO 800, f/5.6 at 1/1000th of a second.
Sean, you have so many great polar bear images & this is another fine example. It looks as though your subject is completely unaware of your stealing a view. Do you recall if at some point along its tiptoeing through the ice it ever paused, looked in your direction & sniffed the air?

Love the moment in nature every morning – especially this majestic polar bear on a cold morning.

So he’a basically just standing there with the fridge door open waiting to dive in?
