A couple of polar bears crossing paths early in the morning at Seal River in northern Alberta, Canada. The bears congregate on the shoreline in October, passing the time however they can while waiting for Hudson Bay to freeze over so that they can go out and hunt for seals. It might look warm, but the wind chill was -27 degrees Fahrenheit that day. Nikon D700 with Nikkor 70-200mm lens (at 78mm) ISO 400, f/8 at 1/2000th of a second

Amazing portal to an unreal world, Sean. Great capture of time and place and the bears are icing on the cakes of ice!
Thanks Sue. That was my feeling when I saw that sun rising — I just wanted to get out and get some landscape shots. And then the bears showed up.
So glad you visited these majestic creatures before they are extinct due to climate change
No doubt Mom, no doubt. Time is certainly running out.
Stunning!
Thanks Anderson.

Thanks Aunt Sue. Hope to get back sometime soon.
It looks like another planet.
Thanks Donna. It was quite the glorious, -27 degree morning.
