Pika are most closely related to rabbits, although they look more rodent like. They live in mountainous regions of North America, Asia and parts of Eastern Europe. This species is the American pika, photographed at Mount Evans in Colorado. As you can see, they are quite round, and look like little furry softballs. Cute little guy focus of photo
Against a hazed backdrop
Thanks Aunt Sue. I love when I can get the animal isolated like this agains the background.
They also look like the rocks they are on for a perfect camouflage. Very cute indeed
That they do Mom. But their high pitched yips quickly give them away.
Ok so I need that.
I’ll see what I can do Shardae. At least I won’t have to cross any international borders.
Pika what? Pika chu?
OK! A new take on a “pet rock”! Delightful pic!
Sparrow calls them, “Ball-rabbits”.
