Just when I thought this mother bear and her two cubs were going to disappear into the forest, she plopped down and began to nurse. The cubs couldn’t get enough, even after a morning of eating fish and what seemed like massive quantities of grass. But then again, it’s that time of year when it’s all about fattening up as much as possible before hibernation. It was nice to get a front row seat to this intimate behavior. Momma looks as though she is at complete ease, but with claws at the ready in the unlikely event . . .
What a swell photo, Sean. I love the green hues in the backdrop. The coats on all three bears appear to be robust for the winter they will soon face.
You must have felt privileged to experience such an event and to come away with an amazing souvenir, not to mention your life – we are talking a momma bear with her two young cubs.

No doubt Sue. But as long as she always knew where we were, no problem. Now if I tried to sneak around and get a shot from behind…
Incredible!
Thanks D. I’m sure you can relate these days.
