We spotted this magnificent frigatebird chick on the island of Genovesa in the Galápagos Islands. As you can see, it kind of looked like it was wearing a boa. We saw quite a few of these chicks, but none quite as fluffy as this. Nikon D700 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 360mm) ISO 400, f/4 at 1/1250th of a second

THIS BIRD IS QUITE CUTE IN ITS FUFFY LITTLE COAT, OF FUR. GREAT PIC.
Thanks Michael.
I love this gal in the boa……or maybe it’s a guy Cage aux Fol style. Great rocker hairdo also!
such a lovely creature!!! this shot just oozes “contentment” to me, this bird is just so happy with who he (or she!) is!
Thanks Amanda. Yes, they appeared both content and confident as they sat in their nests casually observing the passing humans.
Adorabable!! Great photo!
So fluffy!
What a sweetie! Fascinating, I’ve not seen anything like it before. Great capture!!
Thanks Phyllis. These large chicks dotted the landscape, sitting in the bushes with their fur coats, waiting for their moms to return with fish.
