This male lion had a belly full of oryx when he arrived at the water hole to quench his thirst. The light was pretty nice that morning and the water hole was so still, providing a mirror-like reflection.
As a photographer myself, I am familiar with early morning light, still water and how you can a perfect reflection if you happen to be there are the right moment.. I use PS to tweak my photos and I don’t see any evidence of alteration here. And if I do use PS ‘trickery’ to enhance a photo, I will say so. I would never assume anything else other than a photographer’s statement.
Thank you, Sean, for showing me what a another beautiful day in Africa looks like. The quality of light, the color of the sky and the stillness I’ve seen here in New England, but the addition of the king of the jungle and his perfect reflection lets me travel through your lens.

Gorgeous photo, particularly in its simplicity.
What a beautiful shot. I envy your travels.
Sean, this photo took my breath away. That animal gets HOS role as “king of the jungle”.
HIS role, HIs role. I hate predictive text.
Another fantastic shot. Amazing photographer.. !
Amazing shot Sean!!
Photoshop is not trickery, it is an artistic tool to perfect your work, just like the darkroom.
Love it! The reflection seems even more beautiful than the real lion. Pretty envious of the dry heat of Africa right now. . .
