First day in the Masai Mara back in June, we came across this male lion in the rain, up on a small hill, surveying his environment. Nikon D850 with Nikkor 70-200mm lens (at 116mm) ISO 900, f/2.8 at 1/640th of a second.
Nice shot, Sean! So often images of lions are seen surrounded by sand-hued, dried grasses. Those grasses don’t grow without some precipitation along the way. The colors in your photo bring a very different perspective to the habitat of these regal creatures.
Thanks Sue. We’re taking another group to the same place in April, which is the height of the green season. Here’s hoping for great landscapes, and not too much rain.
