Many consider the leopard the most attractive of all the big cats. Hard to argue with this young female. We saw her a few times in our six days in northern Botswana on our honeymoon trip two years ago. This shot was taken about twenty minutes before she dropped from the tree onto a grazing impala below. Nikon D800 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 360mm) ISO 800, f/5.6 at 1/500th of a second
I wish Rick. We only heard about the drop at lunch 20 minutes after we had left. I justify it by convincing myself that the light would not have been good as it was nearing mid day. In this portrait the leopard is in full shade.

Terrific portrait, Sean, Are we going to see the “drop down” tomorrow?

great pic. would like to see the rest of the chase, and the pouncing out of the trees if possible. ? )
Hi Michael, we missed the attack and only heard about it later in the day.
