Sometimes you can get close. This was a one-year old leopard we observed stalking a pangolin for about three hours. I previously posted about the encounter at this link. We were obviously able to get very close, and I used my long lens (and a generous crop) to zoom in on the leopard’s eyes for this tight portrait.

Those are like a cornucopia of amazing colors in the eyes I just want to reach right out and pet him he looks so sweet how can anybody use these animals for coats amazing shot as always

Thanks Rick. That’s the bonus of a 36 megapixel D800. I can crop off 2/3rds the frame and still be at full crop on my D300 and 700.
