A female leatherback turtle after having just spent the past few hours laying eggs. She will rest for a few minutes, worn out by the effort, before returning to the sea. What she leaves behind is a hundred or so eggs — only a small fraction of which will survive the gauntlet of dangers that lay ahead and eventually make it to adulthood. Sean, you have captured the world view as seen by one leatherback. Her flipper tells the tale of being completely spent after her great effort to bring babes into this world. Her serene moment is counter-balanced by a dramatic sky over the cove. Very nice start to my day – many thanks!
——- Celebrated by heavens drama
——- And perhaps angelic choir
——- Heroic Leatherback returns
——- To boundless ocean
——- Daunting effort and risk
——- Giving life to those who
——- Swim in her wake

I absolutely LOVE this photo — so poignant … a brief still-frame on the circle of life. Thanks again for sharing all your wonderful art with us.
