More Tasmania. I can’t help it. It really was a great trip. In this photo, it appears as if these two forester kangaroos have come to some sort of a mutual agreement and have just closed a deal. I love photographing kangaroos because they have so much personality and you never know what they might do next. This is another one from Narawntapu National Park on the northern coast. Nikon D810 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 380mm) ISO 400, f/5.6 at 1/400th of a second
Exceptional image, Sean! It’s not just that you happened to catch a convivial moment between these two creatures, but that the moment was highlighted by beautiful and rather golden light, to boot!
Thanks Sue. This was probably my favorite night in Tasmania. Surrounded by about 50 kangaroos and zero humans. The clouds were lighting up and I was scrambling around with both my wide and telephoto lenses trying to capture as many images as possible.
Sean this question is unrelated to the kangaroo photo but I was wondering have you ever captured the Honey Badger on film? I was currently reading an article about these fearless, ferocious fighters. They are interesting creatures.

You captured a beautiful moment. My imagination has taken a journey through Tasmania. I am left to wonder what the next moment was like…I love that!
Thanks Liz. As I mentioned above, this was certainly a magical night.

As always beautifully observed and recorded .
Good one, Peter!
I’m loving these kangaroo shots. They do, indeed, look like two business people sealing a deal with a handshake. Quite amusing.

Yes, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing honey badgers on three separate occasions, across two different trips to Botswana. Here are few links to previously posted photos (all four are from my first sighting. I’ll have to post one of the other honey badgers soon):
