These two rutting male impala appear to be taking a break from chasing each other around so that they can show a little affection. This was in Laikipia, Kenya, an area that used to be mostly farmland but has been reclaimed for wildlife preservation.
I love those wunderful special moments, you catch with your camera…and I wonder, how much time it takes you, to get such precious moments like that – and many others, you share with us. Thank You!

Thanks Gerlinde. You never know with nature. Sometimes you’re there for a minute and something great happens. Other times it takes hours. I had been photographing these impala running all over the place and then suddenly these two just stopped and gave me this shot. A second later they were chasing each other again.
