A hoary marmot rests on a boulder in an alpine meadow in Mount Rainier National Park. These marmots are the largest North American ground squirrels and are often called whistlers for their high pitched warning call. They live near tree line in mountainous areas of the northwest. —– Give me land
—– Lots of land and mountains

—– In no volcanic hurry

—– My kith and kin .
Great shot! Seems to be enjoying the rest and the vista. Reminds me of how my backyard gray squirrels stretch out on their tummies and rest on my back deck railing.
