Sometimes you need a hand in there to get a sense of scale. This was a little leaf-tailed gecko that my guide found one night while we were out spotlighting in Ranomafana National Park in Madagascar. In my three weeks in the country, I saw both geckos and chameleons that were as small as an inch long, while others were over two feet.
SUCH a wonderful photo!!! When I lived in Hawaii I had the most wonderful little geckos in my home and one day I came in to find one about an inch long, sitting right in the upturned hands of a little wooden Buddha statue that I have!!! And, of course, I couldn’t get to my camera fast enuf, unfortch! He ran! lol…..I still have the pic in my mind’s eye tho :O)

He’s a cutie
I have not noticed a thumb at such close proximity before. It’s got a lot of character. Nice frog too.
Really cute! Great photo!
