This one goes out to everyone at the Sierra Club Photography Committee of New York. Thanks for having me as your guest speaker tonight. It was a lot of fun sharing my photos and stories from the field. This species of goose is a common sight in the Falkland Islands. For this exposure, I got the camera on the ground to effectively blur out the foreground and background tones of green and yellow vegetation. Nikon D800 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 400mm) ISO 800, f/4 at 1/2500th of a second

Hey Michael, a lot of times seals will find shelter quite a distance from the water. So usually if you see them there it’s because they are looking for a nice safe place to rest.
Thanks Amanda. That yellow in the background is called gorse and was all over the island and in full bloom. An invasive species but is sure looks good.

Congratulations on being the guest speaker. I’m sure that was a fun evening.
So beautifully structured —- This avian statuary a decoy formed —- By nature not by man .
The background is perfect for the feathers colors and those orange legs. Such a beautiful bird. Elegant, even, in this portrait.
Nice shot Sean. Great color palette here. Kudos as well on the guest speaking appearance. Well done.
i like the birds more and more.
What a stunning photo, Sean. The foreground and background colors mesh so well with the beautiful hues in the fethers of this gorgeous bird!
