About a year ago I posted a similar shot, but from the lion’s point of view. This one shows the concentration — and frustration — on the face of this black-backed jackal. The lion, in fact, seemed to be toying with the jackal and refusing to let it get any satisfaction. She had virtually stripped the carcass clean but still wouldn’t abandon it. The jackal finally gave up and left. Just as soon as it was out of sight, the lion got up and walked away herself. “WOW,” great emotion charged image! I couldn’t take my eyes off the Jackal’s eyes, they spoke. The more I studied the picture the carcass rather looked like a large hand, about to grab the lion. Gosh your images are great!
Thanks Phyllis, this was quite the scene, watching two jackals trying to annoy the lion so much that she would leave the kill. They were yapping non stop and even cautiously nipped at the lion’s tail a few times.
lIn this pic. tells you who is the boss, when growels and hiss, that mean stay away til he is finish , we he is finish, he will leave and what is left over is your ?

Amazing how one picture can tell a whole story.
Wow! I actually feel bad for the Jackal
Poor Jackal, makes me feel sad.
