Two coastal brown bears look back in unison as they patrol the shoreline of Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. In late summer through fall, the bears come to the beach in search of salmon. Nikon D500 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 360mm) ISO 640, f/4 at 1/1250th of a second.

Sure was like that last year. Not so much this year. We’ve had a single male show up from time to time but usually at night when we’re sleeping.
Now THAT’S a double take! Great shot, beautiful moment! Doesn’t look like these two have missed many meals.
No. It’s a time of plenty when they’re fattening up before hibernating. Lots of salmon there for the taking.
