We had a flock of cedar waxwings stop by this weekend to feed on the red berries in our backyard. The ideal shot of waxwings is a back profile, where you can see the red tips on the feathers and the yellow tail tip. That said, I liked the background (and berry) in this image. And you can kind of see the red and yellow. Hopefully they’ll be back again sometime this week and I’ll try again. Nikon D500 with Nikkor 500mm PF lens, ISO 400, f/5.6 at 1/1250th of a second.
Great bird. Hey, I know you don’t normally take requests, but since tomorrow is election day would you happen to have anything with like, a donkey hunting an elephant? Or a donkey eating an elephant? Or a donkey beating an elephant at chess? Or anything like that really…I’m hoping to set a mood.
Love the soft pastel background, almost a watercolor effect, with such a clear shot of the waxwing with that juicy berry. I only got to see them for a few transitional days where we lived in Michigan. Hope they hang out longer in your backyard!

The birds are feeding on my burning bush berries. I tried capturing a picture of a bird that has a muted red breast but much larger than a robin.
