A northern cardinal dropped in for a visit today. The birds are always a nice surprise when they show up at the camera trap. Nikon D810 with Nikkor 17-35mm lens (at 17mm) ISO 500, f/14 at 1/160th of a second, Cognisys camera box, trail monitor and remote flashes.
I am surrounded by beautiful tropical birds, and I really enjoy observing them from my lanai, but in my opinion, you can’t beat the beauty of a male cardinal! I used to love to see that deep red against the white snow when I was in New England! This one looks like he’s levitating.
