Hummingbirds get some of the best names in nature. Like this here black-throated mango. This was one of the many hummingbirds that I was able to photograph at the Asa Wright Nature Center in the mountainous central region of Trinidad. Nikon D300 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 240mm) ISO 500, f/10 at 1/250th of a second, two Nikon SB-900 flash units.
What an amazing life you have being out in nature catching all the creatures in their natural habitat going to all these exotic places what a beautiful shot it’s not easy to capture those little birds amazing
Gorgeous! I know there are 2 schools of thought when photographing hummingbirds. Either have a tack sharp photo or keep some motion in the wings. I prefer the latter, like this shot. What a beautiful body. The colors remind me of peacocks.
Yeah, I agree. Hummingbird shooters can get very specific about the proper technique. And quite often it includes putting fake backgrounds behind a feeder. I prefer a bit more natural approach.

Stunning!
What a beautiful bird with its iridescent coloring. Amazing that you were able to capture it in all its colorful glory.
