I remember being quite excited to see black swans on my first visit to Australia. Turns out, they’re fairly common in many areas of the country, including Tasmania. This particular swan allowed me a pretty close approach and I was able to get an eye level perspective by lying face down at water’s edge on Bruny Island. Gorgeous image of this beautiful bird with an elegant composition, Sean. Wow, would I love to see and photograph a Black Swan. Lately, in our neck of the woods, we have been treated to Tundra Swans that frequent the nearby Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. They will take off for points north one day soon, then we will have to bide our time with other creatures until next winter. I keep going back and looking at this image, Sean. The red beak and eye against the black feathers sets up an awe-inspiring photo. Well done!
