This black bear sow appeared to be posing for the camera just before climbing up the tree to join her pair of year-old cubs. I took this photo a couple of years ago in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee.

Nikon D700 camera with Nikkor 200-400mm VR lens (at 200mm), ISO 800, f/4 at 1/80th of a second, handheld.
I was approximately 40 feet from the bear I would say.

The beautiful light on the model shows off her delicious curves. She wears the fur coat well. Looks expensive. Love the palette.
She does seem quite pleased with herself, doesn’t she?
She juts that right hip out as though she were in contention for America’s Top Model!
