Looks like a perfectly fine place to relax to me. This black bear cub was one of several siblings perched safely in the trees while Mom foraged below. Photographed in northern Minnesota. Nikon D800 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 400mm) ISO 1600, f/4 at 1/160th of a second.
Bears are no dummies. This wee one draped itself over a well-placed branch to help our bruin prevent succumbing to gravity. I’ve seen such a sight in a campground in Yosemite Valley. Unfortunately, at the time my lens with its limited focal length (50mm) prevented me from getting an acceptable photograph. Still the image of that scene is burnished in my memory.
