Just back from a few days in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Too many photos to go through at the moment and I need sleep, but here’s a quick one that I took yesterday in Badlands National Park. Look closely and you can see a bighorn sheep silhouetted against the great sky. Nikon D800 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 250mm) ISO 400, f/8 at 1/640th of a second
Beautiful photograph. It sort of puts life’s little woes into perspective , don’t you think? Earth is a wonderful place and we are truly blessed to live on it. I hope this photograph is inspirational to others as it is to me to remember what a gift we have here and to take better care of it. It is our home.

Now that is a one in a million shot… fabulous!
Thanks Tina. I was in the right place at the right time for this one.
Pretty significant cumulonimbus cloud with anvil.
So that’s what you call that thing — an anvil. It sure was a nice one.
Majestic! !
Wow…….just wow
The colors, the lighting, the topography – just a gorgeous shot. Look forward to your pics each day. Thank you so much!
Thanks Ann. Badlands is one of my favorite places in the country.
Gorgeous!
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!
Superb!
Look even closer and you can just make out a nefarious koala racing up the ridgeline towards him.
Didn’t think they had koalas anywhere but Australia (Unless a koala is another animal in USA
Love the balance of this photo… I feel it captured the true romance of the landscape! Well done!
Thanks Sheila. Always nice when a sky opens up like that just when a bighorn crests the highest point in a range.

Did Ansel Adams wait for—-Me to accent natures glory?—-I’m a fool for art.
A very proud bighorn surveying his kingdom. Beautiful lighting, geography and cloud formation. Fabulous Sean!
Simply perfect. Peaceful. Thanks for sharing!
Great shot Sean. Agreed. The Badlands is a truly magical place. One of my favorites as well.
