A bighorn sheep blends in with the surroundings at Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Nikon D700 with Nikkor 70-200mm lens (at 70mm) ISO 200, f/5 at 1/2000th of a second.
Really nice capture, Sean! A beautiful animal in a remarkable habitat. I assume the lines on the hillsides are caused by erosion? They leave the impression of large leafless trees laid flat against the hills. Patterns repeat in nature.
One lonely bighorn surveying his stark domain. Perhaps he’s a scout for the rest of his herd. It’s nice to wonder what happens in such a beautiful place.

Yes. Sort of like the water lines left at the shoreline. Badlands is one of my very favorite places on earth. I love it there.
This picture is unique.
Thanks Donna.

Could be. They seem to appear suddenly out of nowhere.
