It’s been a while since I posted a gorilla so here’s another one from Bwindi National Park in Uganda. This baby was crawling all over its mother’s back, swinging from vines and playing with one of the other two babies in the troop.
This is a mountain gorilla. They are critically endangered. Only about 700 left in the wild. And yes, certain males of the species develop the classic silver hair on their backs and thus the name silver backs.

They’re very happy…
Want to take it home.
Great shot Sean. Cool depth of field. Is this a “silver back”? What is their status in terms of endangerment?

Very cool. Thanks for the speedy response. How much does a full grown male max out at in terms of weight?
Over 500 pounds in the wild, but obese ones at the zoo can be over 800 pounds.
