One of my favorite co-workers is leaving our office in New York this week and moving to Chicago. What does that have to do with a baby spectral tarsier? Well, she’s a big fan of the tarsiers and she’s been a big fan of the blog since I started it five years ago, so this one goes out to her. Spectral tarsiers, which live on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia, are one of the smallest primates in the world. This baby couldn’t have been much bigger than a baseball — most of that size being the head. Nikon D300 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 220mm) ISO 200, f/8 at 1/60th of a second, Nikon SB-800 flash
Sean,
I look forward to your blogs every day and am disgusted on Saturday and Sunday when I don’t get my animal fix. Thank you for your lovely photos. Good luck to your co- worker at her new job and keep those pictures coming. What a great job you have! Thanks for sharing your world travels with the rest of us homebodies!
Smiles to you,
Melissa
A Google image search on Tarsiers is how I found your website. 🙂 These little critters are amazing! And your photos are absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Rhonda. They are great little critters. Now I need to go photograph their cousins, the western tarsiers, in the Philippines. They have an even bigger eye to body size ratio.
The only thing that would make me feel better about Shardizzle leaving is if you could bring a baby tarsier to the office.
No can do? Guess I’ll keep crying at my desk…
Just because you’re leaving NYC doesn’t mean you’re leaving the blog, I hope, Shardae. I still look forward to your special “take” on many of Sean’s shots!! Mama Crane
I am sad for my brother and all your NYC buddies that they have to say goodbye but I wish you luck in Chicago! That would be one hell of a goodbye party if Seanie could manage a Tarsier in the office for you!
