This photo was taken in the same general area as the previous one I posted from Vicksburg. In the distance to the left is the Louisiana Memorial. To the right is the Illinois Memorial, perhaps the most impressive structure in the park. In the middle, you can see how hilly the terrain is, making it difficult for either the Union or Confederate armies to gain much ground. Tomorrow, back to the animals. Nikon D800 with Nikkor 17-35mm lens (at 17mm) ISO 200, f/22, shutter speeds of 1.6, .4, .8, 3 and 6 seconds (5 shot HDR image)

Hey Michael, mostly animals, but when there are no animals around to photograph, I photograph the landscape.
Very nice composition. So well balanced and while the sun is going down, there’s still plenty of light for the foreground flowers.
beautiful…and so serene
The wildflowers make a stunning foreground. Please revert to landscapes whenever you can. They are as equally wonderful as your wildlife shots!
This is just beautiful. The sunset compliments the wildflowers perfectly.
So beautiful. And thanks for the brief history lesson 🙂
Stunning!!!
Stop making your landscape shots so good! Just stop!
Such a serene looking place, difficult to believe 19,000 were killed or wounded during the siege.
Very cool shot Sean. Nicely done.
