For the most part on safari, lions and other large mammals completely ignore vehicles and those of us lucky enough to be inside them. We’re viewed as part of the landscape, allowing for a close approach with minimal impact. But every now and again we’re reminded that we’re not always welcome. Thus was the case with this lioness, who snarled at us before plopping back down into the grass. Nikon Z8 with Nikkor Z 70-200mm lens (at 140mm) ISO 640, f/4 at 1/1000th of a second.

Can’t say I blame the lioness. All she wanted was a quiet booth near the back of the cafe, far from the crowds. Despite that, nice shot, Sean!
Ha, thanks Sue. Yes, she was animated for a few seconds but then got back to the serious business of relaxing.
someone woke up a little grumpy. Nice shot!!!
Without a doubt. Luckily it was just a temporary mood.
Love all the anthropomorphism today!
Thanks Mom.
Not sure if it was something you said, or she was just annoyed at the interruption to her nap, but I don’t think she likes you!
