We came upon a pack of African wild dogs late in the day in northern Botswana, all winding down from a day of hunting. There were about 20 of them and just like any good dog, lots of yawning going on. Nikon D300 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 360mm) ISO 800, f/5.6 at 1/640th of a second.
If this is what you call a “wild” dog Sean, I’d hate to see what you consider a “wild” night: Probably a wine spritzer, generic chocolate bark from Target and the latest Wes Anderson movie (which was delightful by the way.)

Thanks for the recommendation Louis, I haven’t seen it yet. Sounds like a pretty good night to me.
Grrrreat shot! It is lucky that YOU came upon a pack of African wild dogs. It could have been much less pleasant if the pack had come upon you! : )
Thanks Sue. Ha, yes, they can be fierce and unforgiving hunters.
We were disappointed that we didn’t get to see any of these when we were there. Great shot! I wonder who wins in a skirmish with the hyenas?!
