One of the nice things about going to Yellowstone with people that hadn’t been there before was revisiting all the great landscape features of the park. Usually, I just head straight for the wildlife and drive right past the geothermal highlights. Both of these shots were taken at Mammoth Hot Springs, where travertine terraces of calcium carbonate dominate a large hill at the northwest entrance to the park. It almost looks like winter, although there was not yet any snow on the ground. The top shot was taken below the terraces while the second shot was taken from above. You put that fisheye to good use!
Thanks Rick. I added it to my bag about a year ago and in the right situations it can be a great little lens.
It’s other worldly! Great fisheye lens application, Sean.
Thanks Sue. I love pulling out the fisheye every now and again to add a bit of diversity to my shots.
Marvelous!

It’s my favorite National Park for wildlife, but the diversity of landscape and geothermal features is amazing too. A worthy stop on any bucket list.
No disrespect to the artists eye .
None taken Peter. Thanks for the daily poems.
