A great egret puts a finishing touch on a nest at the Venice Rookery in Florida. Nikon D300 with Nikkor 200-400mm lens (at 400mm) ISO 400, f/8 at 1/3200th of a second.
I have seen such remarkable images of nesting egrets & herons at the Venice Rookery. I live within about 2 miles of Hookton Road’s rookery, but the trees are probably at least 80′ high. Its “airborne canopy” makes it difficult to photograph the parents & their young. Your photo today is beautiful, Sean. It serves as another reminder that I MUST get to the Venice Rookery.
Now your in my neighborhood,we have many in Florida and see them often but you caught a great bird in flight & brought out their elegance , but they are noisy flying overhead my house!
