Coyote Bursting Through Snow

Coyote, Yellowstone National Park, WyomingCoyotes have become pretty common these days thanks to their ability to adapt to so many different habitats and weather conditions. Always nice to see them in Yellowstone in the wintertime. This guy clearly had his eye on something as he burst through the snow.

No doubt Wily Coyote was looking for something he could overwhelm, catch, then consume to turn into energy in an effort to stay warm that wintery Yellowstone day. Love the snow clinging to his fur like Velcro (A) sticks to Velcro (B)!

Great capture. We see them with some regularity here in rural north central Washington state (and hear them frequently), but I’ve never had a camera even close to ready … they are very elusive and run/hide at the slightest noise.

You caught the motion of his body with burst of snow surrounding the movement of the hunt
