Leopard Eyes

Leopard Eyes, Linyanti, BotswanaSometimes you can get close. This was a one-year old leopard we observed stalking a pangolin for about three hours. I previously posted about the encounter at this link. We were obviously able to get very close, and I used my long lens (and a generous crop) to zoom in on the leopard’s eyes for this tight portrait.

Terrific detail for what you describe as a “generous crop.”

Thanks Rick. That’s the bonus of a 36 megapixel D800. I can crop off 2/3rds the frame and still be at full crop on my D300 and 700.

Sean, I’m also enjoying my D800. It definitely was worth the investment! And I’ll be forever grateful to you for your guidance in helping me upgrade my equipment.
